Local and European elections - June 2009
Elections the the Dublin Constituency of European Parliament and elections to Dublin City and County Councils will be held on June 5 next.
NearFM, in conjunction with the Northside Community Forum, is organising a series of debates, in the run up to the forthcoming Local and European elections. A panel of candidates will be present to take questions from members of the public.
After the success of the meetings for the Artane-Whitehall and Donaghmeade Wards, and the European Parliament election, you are invited to attend the last meeting for the Clontarf Ward, which takes place on Thursday, 28th May, 7pm, at Le Chéile, Donnycarney.
You can either come along to the Election Special or tune into Near 90fm for the live broadcasts.
Everybody is welcome to ask a question or raise a concern with their local representative.
Near TV filmed parts of the European debate.
All the candidates running for the Clontarf Ward have been invited (and most of them confirmed to attend) so it is a great opportunity for you to raise your concerns and see what the representatives have to reply.
An interesting and complex debate with most of the European Parliament election candidates took place on Thursday 21 May 2009 at the Northside Civic Centre. Eoin Ryan and Eibhlin Byrne (FF), Gay Mitchell (FG), Proinsias de Rossa (Labour), Deirdre de Búrca (Green Party), Caroline Simons (Libertas), Patricia McKenna (Independent) and Emmanuel Sweeney (Independent) answered the questions posed to them by the audience.
