In Fairview CYMC/LC, the Pitch & Putt year starts on the 17th March each year with the section captain’s drive which is followed by a scramble and this year, 2009, after our game we had a good afternoon in the bar with music and finger food which was very well supported. Our captains, Rose Collins and Jim Chamberlain where very happy with the way the day went.

 

At the moment we are at the knock-out stages of our winter leagues which is run for males and females with the men playing Sunday mornings and the ladies in the afternoon. On Sunday 5th April the men’s quarter and semi-finals will be played and the ladies’ semi-final in the afternoon. The date for the final will be announced later.

The Easter weekend brings the first of our opens which is the singles ladies and gents and in October we have scotch foursomes ladies’, gent’s and mixed teams. We will have teams in the Dublin leagues Gent’s senior and Inter., Ladies’ Inters who will be defending the title that they won last year for the first time in 25 years.

Each weekend we hold club competitions, which run over 2 weeks starting on the Friday and running through till Sunday. Club captain Jim will be running his Wednesday night competition (details of starting dates and format will be announced soon). We also have our club strokeplay and matchplay along with other club majors during the summer months. Gents’ captain’s weekend will be held 12th - 14th June. Ladies’ captain’s weekend will be held 21st - 23rd August (for all dates see club calendar).

We are open for membership for a small fee. Come and join us. Further information can be got at the club or from any committee member.
